Bittersweet Academy

The "Bittersweet Academy" is a comprehensive, three-day workshop series intended for families, agencies, individuals and organizations that currently provide and want to improve upon or who plan to offer support services for individuals with autism. It is structured with both flexibility and thoroughness, to best meet your needs.

The Academy's three days can be summarized as follows: Education, Philosophy, and Tools/Techniques:

• Day 1
  Increase your Education about numerous aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorder and see Bittersweet Farms in action on a physical tour of the Whitehouse campus.
• Day 2
  Learn the Bittersweet Philosophy of constantly being in the role of teacher/student, relentlessly searching for each individual's capabilities, and viewing undesirable behavior as having no effect.
• Day 3
  Understand and apply Tools and Techniques that can be immediately implemented to improve visual supports, scheduling, work plans, and problem solving.

We firmly believe attending the entire three-day Academy is most valuable. However, when we say we have structured The Academy with flexibility in mind, it is because you can choose to attend one, two, or all three days of the workshop, depending on your training needs. With regard to thoroughness, we think you'll be hard-pressed to find a more complete and detailed workshop to meet your requirements.
