During the mid-60s, Beach Boy Brian Wilson wrote a song for the Ronettes, according to Fitzpatrick and Fogerty, and gave it to Phil to record. Although an instrumental track was put down by Spector in March of 1965 (with Wilson on piano), no subsequent Ronettes release came about (according to Brian Wilson, he actually wrote the song for Darlene Love, and an existing acetate recording of the instrumental track contains the words "D. Love" on the label). The session was scrapped, but Spector kept the tapes and later contributed them to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a series of public-service recordings to be aired on radio. Meanwhile, Wilson released the song, titled "Don't Hurt My Little Sister," with the Beach Boys. Neither Phil nor Brian got rich on this one...

There was also a "generic" public-service record sent to radio stations that contained the Spector-produced backing track, vocals, plus an announcer. Very little is known about this release.
